Green Urban Living Residences
A sustainable residential project in Islamabad’s F-6/3 sector that integrates community living, accessibility, and green urban design through shared spaces and civic connectivity.

This residential project, located in the vibrant urban fabric of Islamabad’s F-6/3 sector, features two thoughtfully designed apartment units that merge living spaces with a rich civic and recreational environment. The development focuses on community-oriented living, prioritizing accessibility, safety, and sustainability. A shared courtyard acts as the heart of the complex—an interactive green zone that fosters social connection and offers a calm retreat within the urban landscape. The design’s adjacency to key civic amenities such as a primary school, Kohsar Market, sports courts, yoga parks, and a community center with a swimming pool, gym, library, and daycare reflects a holistic approach to everyday urban life.

A multi-modal arterial road separates the residential and civic zones, emphasizing walkability and non-motorized mobility. Prioritizing bicycles, buses, and pedestrian movement, the design ensures safe, efficient circulation—especially for children and families. Guided by Jane Jacobs’ “eyes on the street” theory, the project integrates passive surveillance and community engagement to enhance safety and liveliness. Apartments are strategically oriented to maintain visual connections with public spaces, while communal terraces and balconies overlook pedestrian pathways, reinforcing interaction and a sense of belonging among residents.

The design encourages multi-generational living through fluid indoor-outdoor transitions, supporting both privacy and social cohesion. Passive design strategies such as natural ventilation, daylighting, and green open spaces minimize environmental impact and enhance comfort. By integrating civic programs, pedestrian networks, and shared green zones, the project exemplifies sustainable, human-centered urban living. It stands as a model for future residential developments in Islamabad—balancing architecture, community, and ecology within a single cohesive vision.
