Pakistan’s Sports Centre – Connecting Play and People
Reimagining Pakistan’s stadiums as multifunctional community hubs, shifting from exclusive event venues to inclusive public realms that operate year-round, fostering culture, health, and connection.

Pakistan’s Sports Centre: Connecting Play and People redefines the stadium’s role by transforming it from an event-based venue into a living community hub. Most stadiums in Pakistan remain inactive outside of major events, wasting valuable urban land. This project challenges that by shifting from “Event Space to Everyday Space.” The envisioned design integrates cultural, recreational, and commercial functions, turning the stadium into a civic landmark that operates year-round. Flexible seating doubles as community terraces, while plazas and pedestrian links connect the complex with surrounding neighborhoods, removing physical and social barriers. Sports facilities merge with parks, cultural areas, and retail zones, ensuring continuous activity for residents, athletes, and visitors. Sustainability lies at the core, featuring green roofs, shaded landscapes, and renewable energy systems to lower the environmental footprint. By embedding daily rhythms—morning jogs, markets, festivals, and recreation—the stadium evolves into a social and cultural anchor. More than a sports facility, it becomes a vibrant, inclusive urban space that promotes health, community, and belonging, redefining the identity of stadiums in Pakistan.
